Copperfoil Method
This is where my life as a stained glass artist began, I attended a 3 day course at South Hill Park in Bracknell and had a fabulous instructor, who I still ask questions of occasionally.
The very first piece I ever made was the eye in this group, the piece was based on my favourite and very early painting of mine and I love that I can take a theme and use it in many versions in many mediums.
The copperfoil technique requires accurate cutting (and in my case grinding at times), to ensure the gaps between pieces are very minimal, so when the copperfoil tape wrapped around each piece those edges touch tightly and cleanly. Then when solder is applied, it creates a beautiful consistent sealed channel and decorative outline of the pieces which define the total image.
